Boutique customers and recent newlyweds Stephanie and Hugh, together with their darling cat, Billie, make up the stylish Instagram family @billieliveshere.
Showcasing their home life and design through their posts, Stephanie always had a passion for styling and fashion with 15 years of hairdressing under her belt.
So naturally the idea of styling her home became a huge enjoyment, ultimately swapping shopping for shoes and bags to cushions and throws.
What made you choose your home design?
My parents, Hugh and I went to look at another builder’s display home one Sunday. Arriving and pulling up to a display village, right in front of us was a Boutique home with the Escala façade, the words out my mouth in that moment were ‘Oh my!’
We walked in thinking that it wouldn't be feasible as everything looked stunning and full of quality, but once we spoke with the sales consultant we found a floor plan that suited our block and lifestyle. We were 100% sold and signed the dotted line.
Instantly when you walk into a Boutique display home you get a sense of luxury the finishes of the home, the styling and the materials used in the home are quality we both personally feel in love with the windows.
How was your build journey what was your favourite part?
Because we experienced land settlement delays, once Boutique took over and our home went to construction it felt surreal everything was happening and it went so smoothly.
Seeing all your colour selections and the floor plan come to life is incredible! I remember calling my husband looking in through the window with such excitement as our floorboards had been put down all our choices at the colour selection were there in real life.
Tell us about your Instagram account and the Boutique online community.
I started @billieliveshere not knowing what it would lead to - really just hoping that it would give people inspiration with their own homes, just as much as I would from stylists and like-minded people on Instagram. There really are some amazing, lovely and talented people around!
How would you describe your interior style?
Our home reflects both of our personalities. Hugh likes timbers, grey, and greenery…lucky it's the same things I like!
We each have our own little living rooms with our personal style. Hugh has a luxe Scandinavian man cave/games room and I have my girly Scandi-boho sunroom.
The rest of our home is Scandinavian/Danish inspired with a feminine touch.
What advice do you have for people choosing their colours?
Definitely create mood boards. Also make sure to use Pinterest and Instagram. I recommend pulling inspiration from fellow homebuilders or homeowners, #ourboutiquehome is so great to check out other people’s homes.
Remember that you can always add colour with soft furnishings. Be sure to pick some must have stand out features in your home to upgrade. For us it was the facade, bricks and stone benchtops which add a wow factor to our home.
What advice would you give to those looking to build?
Do it! The freedom of choosing exactly what you want in your home is amazing.
It's the feeling you have made your home your own. Stay organized and save as much as you can so you have no regrets later and it's the home you really want.
Boutique's homes are full of quality and have a great structural gaurantee. This was so important for us because this is your hard-earned money you work for everyday and the home you dream to build.
I would be looking for quality workmanship product quality and guarantee of work.
