From initial concept through to final delivery, the Portofino 28 charity home has been shaped by a shared commitment to thoughtful design and meaningful impact. Every stage of the journey — from early planning and site works through to construction milestones — has brought together the expertise of our team, partners and suppliers, all working towards a common purpose.

Now complete, the home stands as a reflection of that collaboration — a carefully considered residence designed for modern coastal living. More than just a build, it represents an opportunity to create lasting change, with the sale of the home set to directly support Cottage by the Sea and extend their reach to hundreds more children each year.

Joinery & Stone Installation

As the home continues to take shape, the interior is being elevated through the craftsmanship of Polytec joinery and the refined stone selections by Stone Ambassador. Thoughtfully designed joinery brings warmth, texture and functionality to each space, while the stone installation adds a sense of elevated design.

Together, these elements mark a pivotal stage in the build — transforming the home from structure to a coastal sanctuary.

Design with Purpose

The much-loved Portofino 28 design with the Alpine façade, tailored to reflect its coastal setting. Inside, as well as sustainable and energy efficient features, the interiors follow a refined coastal scheme: light, minimal and contemporary.

Soft whites, warm beiges and natural textures create a sense of calm, while standout features like the Vasari island bench, raked ceiling, fireplace and sunken lounge bring moments of drama and delight.

What's next in the build?

With the foundations now in construction, the build is moving into its next exciting stages.

Framing will take shape first, outlining the home’s structure and defining its spaces. This will be followed by the roof installation, providing protection and bringing the home’s silhouette to life.

Inside, the kitchen measure stage will ensure every detail of the heart of the home is precise and ready for installation.

Finally, the electrical stage will see wiring and systems carefully placed to support the home’s functionality. Together, these milestones mark the transition from groundwork to a tangible, functional home that’s closer to helping hundreds of children each year.

Laying the Foundations

Introducing the Portofino 28 at Warralily Estate, a home designed with heart and purpose.

From the Alpine façade to the refined coastal interiors, sustainable finishes, and functional spaces, every detail has been thoughtfully considered.

Cladding is now complete, with painting and the final render to follow shortly. Preparations for hardscapes, including concrete paths and decking, will begin in the coming weeks and will shape the home’s outdoor spaces and overall street appeal. 

Inside the home, cabinetry installation is complete, and the stone has been measured.

Framing

The framing stage is where the home truly begins to take shape. With the foundation complete, the structure rises from the ground, outlining each room and bringing the design to life.

This stage not only defines the spaces within the home but also represents a major milestone in the journey — moving one step closer to creating a home that will make a lasting difference for hundreds of children supported by Cottage by the Sea.

Slab Pour

We’ve officially poured the slab for our second Cottage by the Sea Auction Home — the first tangible step in bringing this purpose-driven build to life.

Site Cut

We’ve broken ground! The site cut is complete on our second Cottage by the Sea Auction Home — the essential first step in preparing the block for construction.

This stage involves carefully preparing and levelling the land to ensure a strong and stable foundation for the build. It’s where plans on paper start to become a physical reality — transforming an empty block into the future home that will help support hundreds of children each year.

Steps towards Building Better Futures 

We are proud to continue as Cottage by the Sea’s sole charity partner, donating the proceeds from a purpose-built home to ensure the charity’s programs continue to thrive. The first Charity Home created a powerful impact – raising $1.68m in January 2022. This year’s project builds on that success.

The second Auction Home being built is the Portofino 28 with our distinctive Alpine façade — a one-of-a-kind residence designed for modern living, inspired by its coastal setting and built with purpose at Warralily Estate.
