Customer stories: Cindy and Dennis’ second contemporary Boutique Homes build

The best sign of a satisfied customer? They come back for seconds.

Married couple, Cindy and Dennis, first built with Boutique Homes in 2020. So, when it came time for a change of scenery and a larger backyard for their growing family, they knew the right home builder for the job.

‘We are really enjoying being in Gisborne. We’ve got the beautiful trees all around us and everyone has been really friendly and welcoming,’ says Cindy.

‘We love that the neighbourhood’s kids can play together on the street, riding their bikes and scooters, and kicking a soccer ball around. It’s great to see.’

For their second Boutique Homes build, the pair decided to choose the popular Marseille 32 home design paired with Provincial facade. Offering four bedrooms, two bathrooms and seamless outdoor-indoor living area, it was the perfect home to raise their young family.

‘As soon as you walk through the front door, you can see right into our home. I love the open plan kitchen/living/dining space, which integrates into the spacious alfresco area through sliding doors,’ says Dennis.

‘We really enjoy having a BBQ outside and watching the kids play in the backyard – it just makes you feel so warm and welcome. We are looking forward to hosting our first Christmas this year.’

Reinventing a contemporary interior design

Cindy and Dennis know exactly what they like. So, their second build was less about change, and more about taking their style to the next level. Warmth is brought to their clean, minimalist interiors through timber-look flooring and textured furnishings. Light and bright wet areas, complete with wooden cabinetry, creates balance and breaks up the home’s mostly monochromatic palette.

The couple took full advantage of their previous building experience, taking risks and stamping their unique style on their second home.

‘Cooking in our gourmet kitchen is so enjoyable. There’s so much space, so it never feels cluttered, and I always have room to move.’

‘In our first Boutique home, we went with a dark charcoal hue in our kitchen cabinetry. This time we had the confidence to install pure black. We absolutely love the sleek, high-impact result,’

says Cindy

A final word on building our Boutique home

After seven months living in their new home, Cindy and Dennis agree they are there to stay.

‘When we pull into our driveway, we’re so proud. Being able to come home and see a smile on our kids facades, it makes us feel like we’ve made the right choice,’ said Dennis.

‘We are really happy with our home, our block, our street and the lifestyle. We’re looking forward to watching the kids grow up here.’
