Fusing a contemporary style with a double gabled silhouette, the new Highland facade introduces a modern barn aesthetic to Boutique Homes’ suite of double storey designs.

‘Our current contemporary double storey facades offer a flat parapet to the first floor, so we wanted to provide customers something different, a modern gable façade option that was just as contemporary but with a clear point of difference,’ says Boutique Homes’ Senior Designer, Rob Nguyen.

‘As well suited to rural areas as it is to inner-city suburbs, the Highland’s contrasting materials and simple proportions deliver a strong street presence.’

Face brickwork to the ground floor provides a solid base for the simple gable forms above. Customers can choose to incorporate an embossed brick pattern detail, adding texture and depth. ‘This upgrade softens the feature brick wall and provides a high-end architectural feel to the façade,’ adds Rob.

Vertical James Hardie Axon 133 cladding wraps the entirety of the first floor to bring out that modern barn look.

‘The cladding can be upgraded to James Hardie’s deeper grooved Oblique 200 for an even more premium finish. The angled groove detailing adds unique texture to the façade, with Boutique Homes’ Montreal 43 the first to feature this cladding on display,’ adds Rob.

The Highland’s tall offset-sash window frames and a deep recessed main window offers dimension and depth, with their asymmetrical placement being a subtle contemporary feature of this façade. The windows are paired with a clean metal roof and rounded gutters and downpipes to complete the modern gable look.

This façade design offers a range of options and upgrades to choose from.

‘Customers can choose to incorporate their own personality into the brickwork, cladding, window and garage colours,’ says Rob. ‘For example, neutral colours may suit rural areas, while an all-white aesthetic might provide a sharp option for more urban suburbs. For a more warehouse feel, I’d suggest opting for a recycled brick look.’

The new Highland facade is available on all of Boutique Homes’ double storey designs, excluding the dual occupancy and Fairhaven ranges.
