Kim suggests examining your streetscape to get a feel for the area. Homes in established areas such as Glen Iris will have a different standard of façade than those in Yarraville. ‘While building a contrasting façade can be advantageous, you don’t want to build a home that stands out in the wrong way,’ explains Kim.

Hamptons

Our sophisticated double-storey Hamptons façade (along with the single storey Southampton) are two of our most popular façades for a reason. With the linear board cladding, window mouldings and sweeping wraparound veranda, you can create a coastal feel wherever you’re building.

‘Its soft features make the Hamptons façade extremely versatile for a range of suburbs in Melbourne, not just the coastal areas,’ says Senior Designer, Rob Nguyen.

‘The Hamptons façade feels familiar and homely and works perfectly when creating a Hamptons or modern-Hamptons interior with profiled cabinetry, sandy floorboards, and grey and white colour palette.’

Modern American Barn

After a traditional-style home that stands out amongst a sea of weatherboard? Then the double-storey Greyson design may be for you, with its American-barn style batten work and gridded windows.

‘The star of this façade is its pitched roofline, offering a family of gables that is striking and different while remaining picturesque,’ explains Rob. ‘This façade is full of character, while still adhering to traditional country styling.’

European

Our double-storey French Provincial design keeps to tradition while guaranteeing to standout on the street.

It’s the perfect façade for families wanting to create a traditional interior that isn’t necessarily coastal – think expansive stone benches, profiled cabinetry and glossy finishes.

‘Created with Melbourne’s more established suburbs in mind, I think of this façade as a streamlined version of traditional French Provincial architecture,’ says Rob. ‘We kept the ornamentation delicate and to a minimum, to ensure the façade remained classy and high-end.’

Key features include the façade’s beautiful quoining bands and window mouldings, and the charming Juliette balcony on the second floor, usually leading from the master bedroom.

Georgian

Stately and grand. Those wanting to create an opulent, traditional home filled with stone and heavy curtains can’t go past the Manor façade design.

‘The brickwork on the ground floor and solid proportions give it a Georgian feel,’ says Rob. ‘This is softened slightly by the decorative profiled mouldings for a classical architecture aesthetic.’

Contemporary

Wanting something modern? The architectural Arc design is your go-to. ‘Offering clean lines and a minimalist feel, the façade works well in established suburbs, coastal regions and newer estates,’ says Rob. ‘Notice the feature brickwork and vertical battens to the first floor, offset by the beautiful curved wall and expansive glazing.’

The Arc façade is a favourite of Kim’s and his customers. ‘It’s timeless and beautiful – it doesn’t matter what else is on the street, you can’t look away,’ he says. Couple this façade with strong, simple interiors, such as an all-black kitchen, tiled or timber floors and a monochromatic palette.

If you’re looking for a single-storey version of the Arc façade, the high-end contemporary Arlo design could be perfect for you.

Old meets new world

It’s a traditional façade – but with an edge. The single-storey Arcadia features painted brickwork and gables and offers a throwback to more traditional English and American architecture, while its large, gridded windows and high-contrasting palette offers a modernised Spanish mission aesthetic.

‘It’s a ‘new world meets old world’ design, using fresh and vibrant colours and a feature chimney wall that offers a unique look to the market,’ says Rob. Springboard off this façade to create a traditional interior design with elements of new – think profiled cabinetry with gridded glass doors.
