Double storey façade – The Greyson range

Classic and quaint, the board and batten Greyson façade offers understated elegance and street value to our collection of double storey homes.

Combining board and batten gables, the Greyson façade is an ode to country living by drawing inspiration from the classical barn style homes of European origin, subsequently brought over to Colonial America by early settlers who built new houses from timber. ‘The Greyson façade combines traditional cladding with steep gables that are further complemented by a sweeping veranda, decorative windows and a modern colour scheme’, explains Senior Designer, Robert Nguyen. 'The Greyson steers away from this classic Hamptons look and more towards modern Hamptons or inland country landscapes. You could say the Greyson façade has less of a coastal feel and perhaps a more country and suburban look to it.’
‘This façade is inspired by the timber framed barn homes of European origins and later introduced to Colonial America,’ explains Boutique Homes Senior Designer, Robert Nguyen.

‘The Greyson appeals to customers who appreciate traditional architecture, with a high-pitched roof, double gables and traditional cladding, complemented by a sweeping four post veranda.’

Steering away from the traditional coastal feel of the Hamptons, the Greyson façade offers a more modern look, perfectly suited to inland country landscapes or contemporary coastal homes.

 

Customers can ensure their unique personality and style is reflected on the Greyson, with two subtle versions on offer:

Greyson Dusk facade

New to the suite of double-storey facades, the Alpine-inspired Greyson Dusk maintains the form of the original, while offering a more rustic look.

‘Greyson Dusk suits customers who wish to create a warm lodge or cabin inspired interior, including deeper timbers and a darker colour scheme,’ says Rob.

‘The design incorporates James Hardie Axon 400 vertical wide board cladding to produce a clean, streamlined aesthetic.’

By removing some of the detailing around the gables and posts, and introducing face brickwork to the walls of the ground floor, customers are offered a clear contrast to the farmhouse feel of the original Greyson.

The original Greyson façade provides a quaint, picturesque feel, with decorative windows and a white-on-white modern colour scheme.

The classic board and batten style is created through James Hardie fibre cement cladding with timber battens over the joins.

‘The ground floor features rendered brickwork to provide a contrast in materials and a solid base. Timber posts and beams, along with a feature profile on the entry and garage doors, complete the look,’ says Rob.

Both the Greyson and Greyson Dusk facades are available with all Boutique Homes’ double storey designs, excluding the Fairhaven.
